D.B. LEVIN
Partner/Producer/Director/Writer
Mr. Levin joined LAMPLIGHTER PRODUCTIONS in 2010 as an independent consultant/producer and became a partner of the company in 2011.
As a creative, Mr. Levin has written and directed theatre and film for the last sixteen years. For film, he wrote the feature mockumentary BITTER JESTER (executive produced by Richard Belzer and winner of the New York Independent Film Festival) and SAUCER COUNTY (for producer Doug Draizin), as well as wrote and directed the films SOMETHING, NEVERLAND and BURIED TREASURE. Additionally, he's directed music videos and assembled commercials for LAMPLIGHTER'S commercial arm.
On the theatre front, his plays have appeared on stages in both New York and LA, including One Step Over (LA WEEKLY hailing it as “Clever, tough and dripping with ironies”) and Meet Me at the Purple Orchid at the Atlantic Theater Company (NY). As a theatre director, he’s helmed many original Off-Broadway works including Joe Hutcheson’s Magnolia Beaumont Goes to Provincetown and The Purpose of Matter in the Universe: The Geography of a Spiritual Crisis (2007 Midtown International Theatre Festival Nominee for Best One-Man Show).
In 1996, Mr. Levin served a six-month stint as a visiting artist at the Royal National Theater in London.
